The National Trust team at the Chiltern Gateway Centre, recently opened on Dunstable Downs, are organising a four-day event to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Saturday 2nd June (open from 11.00am to 5.00pm) is devoted to the visual arts and will be represented by various arts organisations from the surrounding area. There will be stalls selling goods, artist-led workshops aimed at children and adults, art-related events in and around the building taking place throughout the day, a photography competition, plus lots of other activities.
The Artists’ Network Bedfordshire will be showing in a large Street Party themed marquee in the grounds near to the main building. ANB members will be selling work from stands and from a small art exhibition and there will be a chance to meet the artists’ themselves as well as seeing them in action during workshops/ demonstrations.
Children will be invited to create their own Jubliee related works of art which will feature in a large celebration display wall.
