This exhibition shows a group of pictures which will encourage the viewer to enjoy the juxtaposition of nature with the geometry of technology. See a few surprises in colour and shape.
The titles are designed to give enigmatic clues as to how the viewer may wish to interpret the image.

Chiltern Gateway Centre Jubilee Art Celebration Day on Saturday 2nd June 2012

The National Trust team at the Chiltern Gateway Centre, recently opened on Dunstable Downs, are organising a four-day event to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Saturday 2nd June (open from 11.00am to 5.00pm) is devoted to the visual arts and will be represented by various arts organisations from the surrounding area. There will be stalls selling goods, artist-led workshops aimed at children and adults, art-related events in and around the building taking place throughout the day, a photography competition, plus lots of other activities.

The Artists’ Network Bedfordshire will be showing in a large Street Party themed marquee in the grounds near to the main building. ANB members will be selling work from stands and from a small art exhibition and there will be a chance to meet the artists’ themselves as well as seeing them in action during workshops/ demonstrations.

Children will be invited to create their own Jubliee related works of art which will feature in a large celebration display wall.

‘My work is realistic style and I paint a variety of subjects from portraits, animals and still life to scenery. I use mainly oil on canvas and many of my paintings are of seascapes.’

ANB welcomes new member Helen Cross:

‘My work is organic. Many of the paintings are revisited for months until they are complete. The focus is on layers, growth and change.

The medium is primarily acrylics on canvas, adding mixed media to create texture and form.

My garden studio offers further inspiration and freedom for my development as an artist.

My first degree is a BA in Contemporary Art from Nottingham. In 2006 I gained an MA in Art Therapy.

I will be exhibiting my work in Hertfordshire galleries this year.’

ANB is pleased to welcome Carol Mountford:
‘Having a background in interior design, I started painting 20 years ago using watercolour. I am self- taught and think of my style as loose and free flowing with lots of colour and vitality.

Over the years I am proud to have won prizes in local exhibitions and have been featured in Artist and Illustrators magazine and in International Artist. I have now progressed to mixed media on canvas and enjoy using large canvases. Cityscapes are my favourite subject, especially New York, London and Venice, I try to capture the atmosphere in each subject with colour, light and shade and sometimes collage.

My work is now selling through Buckingham Fine Art Publishers to galleries all over the country.’
